Our Purpose
The West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women, Inc., an all-volunteer organization, unites county Democratic Women's clubs together for the success of the Democratic Party by:
- Stimulating interest and participation in government affairs.
- Promoting the fundamental principles for which the Democratic party traditionally and historically stands.
- Developing leadership and promoting harmony within the party ranks.
Our History
The Federation was chartered with the West Virginia Secretary of State on April 10, 1964, as a political organization. The WVFDW supports and works closely with the West Virginia Democratic Party, and its affiliated organizations.
County Democratic Women's Clubs may become members of the Federation if they support the principles of the Democratic Party. Each county club must maintain twenty-five paid members who are registered Democrats.
The West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women, Inc. is a member of the National Federation of Democratic Women.
